  • Work in accordance with Risk and Method Statements
  • Report progress to immediate supervision


  • Fabrication of timber frame hoarding assemblies to technical design
  • Installation of timber frame hoardings in accordance with temporary works design
  • Install timber and metal door sets to new or existing openings
  • Measure, cut and install timber/ MDF architraves and skirtings
  • Fabricate basic MDF/ Timber units to drawing or sketch
  • Operate safely, carpentry tools in association with your work. These to include;
  • Circular saw – all sizes – 110v and cordless
  • Jigsaw – 110v and cordless
  • 110v hand held router and associated jigs
  • Fixed table saw – ability to choose blade type and install safely to machine
  • Planer thicknesser – operation and adjustment
  • Fixed bench compound mitre saw – 110v – ability to choose blade type and install safely to machine
  • Oscillating multi saw – 110v
  • Hand held plane – 110v
  • Reciprocating saw – 110v
  • Associated hand tools specific to the carpentry trade – operation and maintenance
  • Install or replace door handles, locks (all types), cabinet handles, balustrades and other furniture as instructed.
  • Install kitchen units to line and level – high- and low-levelyu cabinets
  • Measure, cut and mitre as required, laminate kitchen work tops
  • Install and secure worktops and mastic seal
  • Scribe plinth or trim panels to suit installation levels
  • Complete timber repairs to external weather boarding including sealing against weather
  • Installation of timber decking systems to external and internal spaces
  • Install solid, laminate or engineered wood flooring systems
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed and report
  • Inspect and replace damaged timber framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
  • Previous experience with WC panel systems – Integrated Panel Systems (IPS) and cubicle systems – installation of new, adjustment of existing and replacement
  • Ability to recognise faults with door and window installations and complete the necessary work to return to serviceable condition
  • Experience with the installation and dis-assembly of ceiling and partition systems – traditional timber construction and metal frame systems

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Must hold a current CSCS card – Carpentry
  • Trade apprenticeship or other recognised training
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry and Joinery
  • 3 years demonstratable experience as carpenter joiner
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Drivers Licence – Maximum of 3 penalty points
  • DFT requirement for a 5 year, checkable work history – Airside pass criteria

  • Provision of specialist electrical tools to undertake carpentry works – Provided by LPL
