LPL was subcontracted by Morgan Sindall to lay the foundation and ground-floor slab for a new school building, including associated new car parks, roadway, externals, drainage and services.

More than 2500m³ of reinforced/mass-fill concrete foundations were poured, along with 5500m² of ground floor slab, shutter, fix steel and pour/finish concrete. This was carried out in four pours.

LPL also formed an internal hydrotherapy pool with an accompanying plant room and internal trampoline pit, both of which were constructed as a waterproof structure.

Drainage was installed for surface water and foul drainage to a depth of 5 metres.

The team dug 5km of service trenching, installing ducting and service chambers along the way.

In excess of 1000m² of roads and car-parking preparation ready for tarmac surfacing, and in excess of 3500m² of various paving finishes were also laid.

The job was delivered on time, and the client was happy with the result, as it enabled a swift handover and continuation of the project.
