Discharge/Transport Lounge Project. The project began with stripping out the existing area, including the mechanical and electrical (M&E) services. We then installed new M&E systems, incorporating specialist services such as Nurse Call Systems and a Fire Alarm System. The scope of work extended to the design and fabrication of a new nurse station and a new kitchen area.
Additionally, we provided all-new seating arrangements, a new curtained bay area for bed-bound patients awaiting transport, new toilets complete with all necessary fixtures and fittings new floor, wall and ceiling finishes.

A key feature of our work included the supply and installation of custom LED lighting. Significant builders’ work was required, including chasing out in-situ concrete walls to accommodate electrical services and modifying the concrete floor to install electrical floor boxes for reclining chairs. Given the proximity to the Oncology Unit, this project was executed in a highly sensitive environment, necessitating out-of-hours work to minimise noise disruption.

We also implemented various ceiling features, including bulkheads and recesses, to enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of the lounge. To further improve the comfort and convenience of patients and staff, we provided a state-of-the-art coffee machine. Despite the complex requirements and the need for careful scheduling, the project was completed within the allocated time frame and budget. The end result was met with high satisfaction from all parties involved, reflecting the exemplary work carried out by LPL.
